How to Support the Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation Fund at Give2Asia
(for Canadian donors)
This document outlines how donors in Canada and overseas donors with Canadian assets may support the Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation with tax-deductible contributions to the Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation Fund at Give2Asia.
Background
Give2Asia is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and Canada 149(1)(f) public foundation, founded by The Asia Foundation to promote charitable giving to Asia. Give2Asia offers donors a wide range of philanthropic services. All G2A grants are administered by its parent organization, The Asia Foundation, which maintains fifteen offices throughout Asia and has been a professional grantmaker since 1954. Give2Asia has formed a partnership with the Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation (NYOF) to provide administrative support for the NYOF’s U.S. and Canadian fundraising. Under this agreement, Give2Asia has established the restricted Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation Fund. Contributions made to the fund are reserved for use on NYOF projects and are granted to the Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation periodically.
Notable aspects of the Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation Fund include
- Gifts to the Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation Fund are tax deductible. Give2Asia is recognized as a tax exempt charitable organization in Canada (Business number 85508 7045 RR0001). As such, donations are tax deductible according to Canadian law. Please consult your financial advisor on structuring your giving for maximum tax benefit.
- You will receive a thank you letter and receipt in recognition of your gift. Upon receiving a gift, Give2Asia will issue a thank you letter and receipt recognizing the receipt of the gift to the Nepalese Youth Opportunity Foundation Fund. This letter may be used for tax reporting purposes.
